Mara emigrated from Treviso, Italy, to settle in Montreal, Canada. After beginning her studies at McGill University, she decided instead to pursue a travel career, which brought her to Toronto, where she simultaneously worked and attended the Ontario college of art and design. Her focus was drawing, painting and sculpting the human figure. She graduated in Interdisciplinary studies.
Mara is continually taking classes and workshops and has had the privilege to study with many accomplished artists, including Chinkok Tan, Editt Davidovici, Lila Lewis Irving, John Leonard, and Steve Rose.
She has exhibited extensively, including solo and group shows, winning several awards, and participated in highly regarded juried shows, such as the Art Gallery of Hamilton, the Ontario Society of Artists (OSA) and Visual Arts Mississauga. Her work can be found in collections in Canada, U.S.A. and Europe.
Mara is currently a member of Neilson Park Creative Centre, DVSA and Critique Group, where she continuously explores her craft with like minded passionate artists.
