Jo Thomson

An experimental photo artist using camera-less techniques, light-sensitive papers, and natural materials to reveal the symmetry, form, and delicate beauty of wildflowers.

Bio: Jo Thomson is an experimental photo artist based in Mono, Ontario. After studying photography at London College of Arts, and a career in studio and editorial photography, Jo now creates camera-less prints using darkroom and sun-exposed techniques. Through foraged wildflowers, feathers, and natural remnants, she crafts unique photograms and cyanotypes that celebrate nature’s quiet resilience and delicate forms. Each piece is a collaboration between light, time, and the organic world — a slow, intentional record of fleeting beauty. Jo’s work invites stillness, wonder, and a deeper connection to the natural landscapes that inspire her.
