The youngest person in the world to cross the Americas on horseback. Filipe’s inspirational books detail the challenges, difficulties and beauty of Long Riding in the 21st century.

Bio: Filipe Masetti Leite is the youngest person and only the fourth in the world to cross the Americas on horseback. It was an 8 year journey that took the member of the Royal Geographical Society and his beloved horses across 12 nations, trekking more than 25 000 kilometres.

Two monuments have been erected in Brazil to celebrate Filipe’s odyssey and his first pair of boots are on display at the Bata Shoe Museum in Toronto. In July of 2020 the journalist was chosen as the Calgary Stampede’s Grand Marshal and white hatted by Mayor Naheed Kurban Nenshi. The author of two best-selling books, in Portuguese and English, he writes for the Toronto Star, Revista Globo Rural in Brazil and in 2022 released the award-winning feature length documentary The Long Rider.
